It started in 2016 with a group of socially conscious Londoners who believed in a vision before the building was complete. Their early investment in the Innovation Works Community Bond signalled that this community was ready to put its resources behind a space where nonprofits, social entrepreneurs and changemakers could gather, grow and do their best work. That founding group of 47 investors set something in motion that would only grow stronger over time.

In 2021, at the height of the pandemic, that belief endured. The vast majority of original investors renewed their commitment for a second five-year term, joined by more than 50 new investors. Together 80 local investors contributed a combined $1 million - demonstrating a deep and growing confidence in Innovation Works and in Pillar Nonprofit Network. 

At a time when nonprofits and charities were facing extraordinary hardship, Londoners showed up. Their investments helped ensure that Innovation Works could continue to strengthen, connect, and advocate for nonprofits and social entrepreneurs when it mattered most.

The Innovation Works Community Bond has now been fully retired. We are deeply grateful to every investor who chose to align their resources with their values and place their trust in Pillar Nonprofit Network over these past ten years. Your investment was more than financial. It was a vote of confidence in the power of community, and in the changemakers and social innovators who call Innovation Works home. 

That impact will continue to be felt in this space for years to come.
