Edgar and Joe's Café - Fun Nutrition Facts

June 22

In the spirit of Edgar and Joe's Café Grand Opening on Thursday, June 22nd, let's take a moment to talk about everything the café has to offer. Other than your daily coffee fix, there are a wide variety of healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks made daily including gluten-free and vegan options. They also carry kombucha tea (Booch) locally made in London. Here are a few fun health facts about the drinks at Edgar and Joe's:

Coffee:

Coffee surprisingly has many micronutrients that contribute to your daily nutrition needs. A cup of coffee contains 11% of your daily vitamin B2 intake, 6% vitamin B5, 3% manganese and potassium, and 2% vitamin B3. These micronutrients play an essential role in the way your body metabolizes carbohydrates, fats, and proteins to make energy to get through your work day!

Also, caffeine makes your body release a hormone called epinephrine, which creates adrenaline in your body to give you the alertness you need to keep you working all day.

Edgar and Joe’s  beans are purchased + roasted locally by our friends at Las Chicas Del Café.

Kombucha Tea:

If you’re not drinking Kombucha yet, you’re missing out on many health benefits! Kombucha is a mildly sweetened fermented tea that contains a SCOBY responsible for initiating the fermentation process. After fermentation, kombucha becomes carbonated and contains B-vitamins, enzymes, and probiotics. Probiotics are important for gut health and overall immune support. Kombucha has also been shown to improve digestion, increase energy, and reduce joint pain. So, hop on the kombucha train and purchase a bottle of Booch, London’s local kombucha brand, from Edgar and Joe’s today!
